Brett Simpson begins his seventeenth year working in the Loyola University New Orleans Athletic Department and his ninth as Associate Athletic Director. In his current role, Simpson coordinates the day to day operations of Wolf Pack athletics which includes varsity sports, a staff of coaches and administrators, and student athletes. He has direct supervision of intercollegiate sports. In handling the operations of the department, Simpson has created and administered student athlete assessments, developed learning outcomes and produced reports in preparation for SACS re-accreditation. He worked to create and execute a plan to expand the athletic department by adding sports and athletic scholarships. Loyola has increased the number of student-athletes from to since , while maintaining a retention rate over . In addition to his experience at Loyola, he also acted as chairman of the baseball committee for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC), twice served as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Site Supervisor for the Baseball National Championships Opening Round, and is currently a member of the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) marketing committee. Simpson has also assisted with the media relations staff of the Allstate Sugar BowlBCS Championship and Nike at the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. He was appointed to the alumni board at St. Martins Episcopal School in Metairie, Louisiana and belongs to various professional and civic organizations.
