High School Kid Asks Miss America to Prom, Gets Suspended

A Pennsylvania high schooler, 18-year old Patrick Farves, was recently given three days of in-school suspension… For asking current Miss America, Nina Davuluri (PeekYou profile here), to the prom.

As USA Today reports here, the offense to school administrators transpired while the former Miss New York was appearing at Farves’ high school for a Q&A. Evidently, the school admins had earlier caught wind of his designs on wooing Davuluri and had kiboshed them outright. Patrick seized the moment, regardless, and wound up in hot water.

The school explained that students who break the rules are disciplined, and this incident was no exception.
