I'm a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur, author, and most of all, learner. I love learning and I try many things with the aim of growing personally and professionally. Wearing my writing hat, I'm coauthor with Reid Hoffman of a forthcoming book about HR and talent management based on our Harvard Business Review article entitled "Tours of Duty The New Employer-Employee Compact." Previously, we wrote a career strategy book titled "The Start-Up of You Adapt to the Future, Invest in Yourself, and Transform Your Career" that debuted at # on the New York Times bestseller list. I've written more than a million words on my blog about current affairs, books, entrepreneurship, careers, and technology. I've written on a range of topics for NPR's "Marketplace," the American Enterprise Institute, Newsweek, and the U.S. State Department. In , I wrote a book about my entrepreneurial experiences titled "My Start-Up Life." I also have a passion for entrepreneurship. I've started and run several ventures, from selling gumballs and pens as a kid to founding an e-government software company (Comcate) that currently delivers hosted CRM solutions to hundreds of local governments in America, to incubating online journalism properties. Finally, I have substantial experience traveling and living abroad. I maintain active networks in several countries outside the U.S. and have been named a fellow in multiple international leadership organizations. To discuss these varied experiences, I've had the opportunity to deliver keynote speeches to over , people in a dozen countries and appear on the CBS Early Show and on Charlie Rose, among other media outlets.
