I'm a contemporary artist who works with clay, wood, acrylics, and various other mixed media to create post cubism, abstract, and visionary realistic sculptures & paintings. Born in Kansas in 1970 to sculptor Cathie Cordova, I was inspired by my mother to become an artist as well. As a child I won several awards in local and regional art shows in the Midwest and on the East Coast. During grade school my work continued to evolve from traditional forms of sculpture and drawing to FX movie monster busts and then to visionary realism while in college. After leaving college I continued working in visionary realism but with each new work of art, more abstraction came to the surface. At the time I wasn't sure what style of art I was working in. For awhile I thought it was abstract with a dose of surrealism. Eventually after another 5 years my work took on the post cubist or what some think of as a Mayan style of carving. For me it's simply a language expressed through lines, form, and movement. Currently my sculptures are available as limited editions of 25. Paintings are all original. All of my work is also available for purchase as: signed gilcee prints, signed prints, or unsigned prints. For more information or to schedule a studio visit, please message me or call 480-539-9640 to speak with me directly. This is my office number at NetSys Interactive Inc., our software, web development, & hosting company. So please ask for me, or if after hours, please leave a message and I will return your call. From 2009 to May 2010, I featured hundreds of amazing artists on my website ArtofDay. I would have liked to continue featuring talented local, national, and international artists, but I ended up with something like carpel tunnel. It started with severe numbness in my right hand and fingers, and progressively went up my right arm to my shoulder within a month. Deciding I'd like to keep feeling in my right arm, I stopped typing all together including posting artist features on Art of Day. Within a month, the feeling in my right arm and hand returned.Art of Day artist features are shared on these social media sites (twitter - ArtistJamesDay, ArtofDay, ArtGreats), facebook, stumbleupon, youtube, flickr, tumblr, & digg with nearly 50,000 followers.____________________I'm involved in thePublic Circles Project____________________G+ users I recommend:+Robert Scoble +Ken Powers +Tea Pearson +Rodney Pike+Terrill Welch +Pete Hobden - +Gabriel Boray +Teri Martin +Jason Nelson +Julia Forsyth +Rod Borghese +Jennifer Bailey +Holly Friesen+Maude McDonald +Mimu No+Owen Swain+Patti Agapi ________________________________Learn about the Public Circles Project:The Public Circles Projectread more ...read less ...
