Arne M. Sorenson joined Marriott in 1996 as Senior Vice President of Business Development. He was instrumental in our acquisition of the Renaissance Hotel Group in 1997. Prior to joining Marriott, he was a partner in the law firm of Latham & Watkins in Washington, D.C., where he played a key role in 1992 and 1993 in the distribution of Old MI by Marriott Corporation.
