Teaching is a deep passion of mine that I have followed all my life. Coupled with my love of science and mathematics, I enjoy making these often-misunderstood subjects come alive and create excitement for them in the classroom. As one of many people who have sought career changes over the last five years, I embarked on my journey, because I felt like my life was incomplete and I could be contributing more to my community. All my life I have tutored students and I even managed to find my way into an adult education setting, so I enrolled in an Elementary Education program because it seemed like a natural fit. The first time I stepped in an elementary classroom eliminated any doubts I had about my new career. When I was an aide in a th grade classroom, a student presented a book to me that I had recommended earlier in the week. She looked at me with excitement in her eyes and said, I never liked reading before, but this book is great My mom yelled at me last night for reading instead of going to sleep I couldnt stop reading That moment, that sparkle in a childs eyes, that is why I teach. I teach to make the boring enjoyable, the mundane exciting, and the difficult understandable. I teach so that every student may have the opportunity to feel the beauty of learning and success. Every student can learn and it is our responsibility as educators to find the methods that work for each student.
