An experienced software developer with a passion for simple and elegant design, I aim to make the power of technology more accessible in a way that inspires creativity and self-expression. My technical experience started in middle school when I taught myself BASIC (and a bit of C) from books I found at the library. Since then, I have built everything from simple websites to complex web applications in a variety of languages, most notably, Java, Ruby and C#. I also have experience with web-based and native mobile applications. I have a game published on the iPhone app store, and have worked extensively on the Android framework and applications for a phone-tablet hybrid coming to market in . I am always interested in trying out new technology and new development processes. Some of my current favorite practices are behavior-driven (test-driven) development, leveraging sustainable pace, and user-centered design. Community involvement is also important to me. I have been involved in founding a charter school in San Diego, and currently I am developing and teaching a computer programming curriculum for middle school students. I have also maintained an open-source software application that had over , downloads per year during the time that I maintained it. My objective is to continue making the most of my technical expertise while gaining more experience with business development, project management and marketing.
