It contained the normal things, born in Geneva, Switzerland, got his Master’s Degree in 1975 and then stayed as the Front of House Instructor for a year after he graduated. He worked for some of the largest and/or most prestigious establishment in Europe before coming to America in 1999. He founded his own company, Art de la Table Inc., an event planning company. While he worked for Ritz Carlton and the Sheraton, he taught French at the Language Institute to Delta and Michelin Tires employees. While he taught at Le Cordon Bleu, he also managed a restaurant at Callaway Gardens. “For a long time, “day off” was no longer in my vocabulary,” said Marc. In fact, his first vacation since 1999 was last year when he went back to Switzerland to see his family. So, how does a guy who worked with 5 star and top level companies, who worked for Consulate Generals and Ambassadors and who planned events for royalty and presidents end up in Macon, Georgia. Simple. In his own words, “Macon is a very nice city. A smaller city is better for making friends and taking care of regular customers.” The smaller city and restaurant gives him the opportunity to meet people and see them over and over again, something that, to him, makes the restaurant experience what it is. Marc’s motto is “Every customer is VIP” Marc’s job is multi-faceted. For him, every aspect of his job is a way of keeping the customer priority one and giving each guest the VIP experience. But there is a part of him that is a clown and an actor and for him, that is just right. “When we serve, we are on a stage and we are actors. My public is the customer. They pay to see a spectacle,” said Marc. In the end, everyone needs to meet Marc. You won’t regret it.
