Currently, I am pursuing a degree in law from the University of Notre Dame Law School. I am looking for employment this summer either as an intern/extern in a judge's chambers or as a summer associate at a law firm. Prior to law school, as a senior at Loyola University Chicago, I co-captained the mock trial team to the National Championship where we placed 6th and I was named an All-American. I went to work at Kirkland & Ellis, LLP in Chicago as a paralegal in their litigation department. I gained extensive complex litigation experience in a wide range of civil and criminal cases. I had the privilege of spending all of my eighteen months at Kirkland, preparing for or participating in trials. Much of my time was spent preparing and editing motions filed on behalf of our clients, such as W.R. Grace and BP, plc. I worked closely with Kirkland litigators preparing for depositions, evidence for trial, and researching complex issues. My last few months at Kirkland, I spent time in Houston in response to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Last year while preparing for law school, I coached a high school mock trial team in Minnesota and worked at a non-profit organization serving adults and teenagers with cognitive disabilities. During my first semester at Notre Dame, I have continued to concentrate on expanding my litigation experience. I have assisted the deposition skills course by serving as a witness both in class and during their midterms/finals. More recently, I was hired as a litigation skills research assistant for Professor James Seckinger. These experiences have reaffirmed my dedication to this area of law. This summer, I am seeking to complement and build upon these experiences through a position that will grant me real-world exposure to complex corporate litigation.
