Being familiar with tea cozies, he asked if Irene could sew him a coffee cozy for his press pot, with an opening at the top for the plunger whenever it was extended for brewing. He added that the opening would need a fastener to reseal it after he pushed the plunger down (when the brewing was done). Using the cozy Irene designed he found his coffee stayed hotter, longer. He asked her if she could manufacture and market this to other coffee drinkers. After she understood he wasnt joking, they discussed the idea, and Koffee Kompanions was born Now Koffee Kompanions offers a full line of original Thinsulate insulated accessories for hot and cold drinks, hot liquid foods, and ice cream.
