Michael Montgomery began his career as a yo-yo protégée at age 13, competed in his first national yo-yo contest at age 14, founded and organized his own yo-yo contest at age 15 and launched his first business at age 17. No point in waiting when you know what you want to do when you grow up, right? Today, he is still in love with all things yo-yos and has turned that passion into successful entrepreneurship. The Idaho State Yo-Yo Championships, which he founded, garnered media coverage from three Idaho television stations and multiple newspapers and has become an annual summer event in Michael’s home town of Emmett, Idaho. Double-Take Industries, his “yo-yo centric†apparel company, is in full swing and he also puts some of his considerable energy into helping others learn to use social media effectively. Michael does many yo-yo demonstrations every year for local schools, youth and church organizations. He teaches at the local Emmett Yo-Yo Club and at various after school programs.
