There was a time when I had a long, buzzword-filled diatribe here about how good I was working with clients and managing projects. Self praise, really, and -- in retrospect -- written as much like a corporate press release or email as anything I've done. So it's been scrapped for something less...fake. I've gone from studying journalism in college to law blog project management as a recent grad to the borders of WordPress development. Most recently I've been working with digital agencies to producesupport client sites and WordPress plugins. I'm not a developer. But I can communicate well, and act as the user's eye by providing a non-dev perspective based on patterns I'm seeing and feedback from the community. Along the way I've picked up skills I'd never thought possible when I was first turned loose on a WordPress system. I like to think of myself as a community liaison, keeping the userbase pacified on the front end and keeping the development team productive on the back. Working inside at a computer all day -- even if it's WordPress -- isn't for me. (I've tried it, both in a corporate office and as a freelancer who took on too many clients and spent every waking hour at his desk as a result.) And because I don't have dogs to get me out of the house or the will for a strict exercise regimen, I took a job on a food truck to explore a venture that I've always been interested in. As one of three core employees I've had a hand in shaping the company and have learned tons about the mobile food business in the process. Ultimately I hope to open a truck of my own.
